Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of ‘Hamilton’ honored Prince’s life by having a dance party on their stage to one of his greatest hits, ‘Let’s Go Crazy.’ Click inside to watch the amazing video!
On Thursday, April 21, we lost an icon when Prince, just 57 years old, passed away. In an effort to honor his life and remember the incredible music he gave us throughout his career, Hamilton on Broadway spent the last few minutes of their show dancing to “Let’s Go Crazy.”
Prince tributes are happening all over the world, but if they were being ranked the Hamilton cast would definitely take the top spot. Just hours after news broke of Prince’s death, Lin-Manuel Miranda led the cast of Hamilton in a dance party dedicated to the late singer. The song? “Let’s Go Crazy,” one of Prince’s most iconic and upbeat singles. Make sure you download “Let’s Go Crazy” by clicking here!
As you can see in the video above, Lin-Manuel read the spoken verse that opens “Let’s Go Crazy” to the very end where he added, “Rest in peace, Prince.” The house band played the song, and the cast broke out into a wild dance party on stage. The only time they stopped dancing was to scream, “Oh no, let’s go!”
There was no rhyme or reason to any of the dance moves, the cast just totally rocked out and had a great time. Here’s a second angle that was taken from the side of the stage, which is pretty amazing:
