Prince has sadly passed away at just 57 years old, and the icon is being mourned by fans all over. At the time of his death, the musician was in the middle of his incredible Piano & A Microphone Tour, and his very last performance took place in Atlanta, Georgia on April 14. Prince died today, April 21, and the world will never see him perform again. A group of lucky individuals were privileged to witness his last show ever at the intimate Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA barely a week ago, and he moved the crowd with an amazing performance. See the videos right here!
Surrounded by purple light and accompanied on stage by no props besides a baby grand piano and a few clusters of candles, Prince enchanted the audience with his 1 hour and 20 minute show. Take a look:
Here, Prince can be seen walking off the stage for the last time. So incredibly sad:
Prince opened the show with a stripped-down version of “Little Red Corvette”, which transitioned into Vince Guaraldi’s “Linus and Lucy”. He also charmed crowdgoers with “Nothing Compares 2 U”, “Muse 2 The Pharaoh”, “U Got the Look” and “Pop Life”. These videos exist despite the heavily-enforced no-phones policy at the show, where ushers in black suits paced the aisles to enforce the no photo/video rule. We’re grateful that some fans rebelled and recorded these videos for us, anyway!
Prince’s tragic death comes about a week after the iconic singer left fans very concerned about his health by making an emergency landing in Illinois, on April 15. The question remains as to if Prince’s sudden death is related to the same illness that forced his plane to land.
