The heartbreaking news of Prince’s sudden death at just 57 years old has shaken the entertainment world. The singer was reportedly suffering from the flu for several weeks before he died
Prince, 57, has passed away and unfortunately very little information about his death has been revealed. However, multiple reports claim the singer had been very ill for quite some time before his sudden death.
This is a truly sad day for the entertainment industry, as Prince was one of the most iconic singers and performers of our generation. Unfortunately, his sudden death could have been caused by a nasty flu that left him ill for several weeks before he was found dead inside his Minnesota home on Thursday, April 21.
Just six days before his untimely death, Prince’s plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Illinois in the middle of the night. He was rushed to an emergency room and released just three hours later, according to reports. At the time, his rep confirmed to TMZ that the singer had been suffering from the flu for “several weeks” and that was what caused the emergency landing and hospital visit. It remains unclear if that same flu is what caused Prince to pass away.

As for Prince’s personal life, the singer was married twice over the course of his life. On Valentine’s Day in 1996, Prince married his backup dancer, Mayte Garcia, with whom he had a son in October that same year. Sadly, the boy died after only a week of life due to being born with Pfeiffer syndrome. The couple divorced in 1999, and Prince re-married in 2001 to Manuela Testolini. Unfortunately, that marriage ended in 2006.
