Prince sure made such a giant mark in the music world, and that became all the more obvious when President Barack Obama himself put out a statement mourning the singer’s passing.
President Barack Obama, 54, and his wife Michelle, 52, are both huge fans of Prince so it wasn’t completely surprising that they took to their social media to mourn his passing at only 57-years-old. Obama noted that “nobody’s spirit was stronger, bolder, or more creative,” in his incredibly moving message, so keep reading for more about what the President had to say about Prince.
“Today, the world lost a creative icon,” President Obama wrote on Facebook. “Michelle and I join millions of fans from around the world in mourning the sudden death of Prince. Few artists have influenced the sound and trajectory of popular music more distinctly, or touched quite so many people with their talent.” WOW! You can tell the Obamas were huge fans of the singer.
“As one of the most gifted and prolific musicians of our time, Prince did it all. Funk. R&B. Rock and roll. He was a virtuoso instrumentalist, a brilliant bandleader, and an electrifying performer.” We have a feeling the Obamas must have enjoyed his performances as this statement totally reads from the heart.
“A strong spirit transcends rules,” Prince once said — and nobody’s spirit was stronger, bolder, or more creative. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his band, and all who loved him.” OMG, truer words have never been spoken.
The Obamas have joined a legion of famous names pouring their hearts out about their great admiration for Prince. Madonna, 57, mourned him by saying, ““He Changed The World!! A True Visionary. What a loss. I’m Devastated,” while Justin Timberlake, 35, called him “More than a “once in a lifetime” artist… Just a ONCE IN FOREVER ARTIST,” and that “He’s somewhere within every song I’ve ever written.”
