Chris Brown’s intense documentary worried and shocked Rihanna. She wasn’t upset that he shared details of her infamous assault, but that doing so could send Chris to a bad place, a source told us EXCLUSIVELY!
Rihanna, 28, was extremely concerned when Chris Brown, 26, told her he was planning a new documentary. She believed that bringing up the night he assaulted her in 2009 could damage him mentally, according to a source who spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Chris told [Rihanna] he was considering doing a documentary and that he would be talking about that nightmare night,” the source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “At first she was surprised he wanted to go public with this. She cautioned him that he had to be mentally and emotionally prepared to go back and relive it. However, he reassured her that this was something good, something he wanted to do. She supported him, and still supports him.”
You can understand why Rihanna is fearful about Chris revisiting this dark time in their lives. Chris beat the life out of Rihanna prior to the Grammys in 2009, a night that changed their lives forever. Rihanna has since forgiven him for the despicable act, and they’ve moved on. But Chris apparently hasn’t; he revealed in the trailer to his documentary that he considered suicide after what he did. Rihanna’s fears were founded! Chris definitely wasn’t mentally or emotionally ready to share this info.
“It hasn’t always been easy for [Chris] to express his feelings publicly and she couldn’t be prouder for him with his documentary.” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “But at the same time, Rihanna doesn’t want to rehash that dreadful day. It’s not something she thinks about and she doesn’t want Chris to either. She’s forgiven him and that’s all that matters. Chris is working on himself and trying to be the best man and father he can.”
