She’s back! Gwen Stefani returned to ‘The Voice’ on the April 19 results show to perform her new single ‘Misery,’ and obviously, it was amazing. Even better? The song is about Blake Shelton…and he proudly looked on from his big red chair as she took the stage!
What better way to really get into a performance than by having the song’s inspiration sitting in the front row?! Gwen Stefani, 46, had her muse, Blake Shelton, 39, right nearby when she took The Voice stage to perform “Misery” on April 19, and (obviously) she totally killed it.
Gwen’s performance opened the show, and there was no better way to kick things off. Joined by a stage full of dancers, the 46-year-old proved she can still put on quite a show by completely commanding the arena as smoke billowed around her. And can we talk about that crazy hairstyle?! Who else could pull that off besides Gwen?
Even though she wasn’t a judge on this season of the show, Gwen certainly hasn’t been forgotten — she even served as a mentor for Blake’s team during the Battle Rounds earlier on! Surprisingly, we also haven’t seen her around during the live shows, but as we EXCLUSIVELY told you, there’s a reason for that.
“Gwen will no longer be on or around the set while Blake is working. If she is not featured on the show in some way, as a coach or mentor, then she will not hang around set just to be close to Blake,” an insider explained to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “They may love each other and enjoy spending time together, but she respects his work space and will keep her time around the studios to a minimum.”
Meanwhile, fans of Blake and Gwen will be excited about this new music news: They recorded a song together and it will be appearing on his upcoming album, If I’m Honest, due out May 20. Maybe they’ll perform it together on the finale?!
