Seven years later, Chris Brown’s assault of Rihanna still haunts him on a daily basis. The singer gets candid about his troubled years in a new trailer for his documentary ‘Welcome To My Life,’ and it’s all pretty intense and emotional. Watch the first sneak peek here!
Chris Brown, 26, is telling all and coming clean in his new documentary Welcome To My Life. That means no topic is off limits, especially his assault on Rihanna after the 2009 Grammy Awards. Watch him openly discuss the horrifying case and how it changed his life forever in the first documentary trailer here.
The nearly three-minute clip starts off with Chris reminiscing on his rise to stardom, and how quickly his life changed from being a regular kid to being one of the biggest stars in the world. Celebs like Usher and Jennifer Lopez make appearances to gush over the R&B superstar’s talent, but the mood quickly changes when it comes to discussion of that one fateful night.
“I went from being on top of the world, number one songs, being kind of like America’s sweetheart, to being public enemy number one,” he admits, as clips begin rolling of the abuse story unfolding back in 2009.
“I felt like a f***ing monster,” he admits. “I was thinking about suicide and everything else. I wasn’t sleeping, I wasn’t eating. I just was getting high.”
“That was the worst day of my life and probably his life,” Chris’ mom, Joyce Hawkins, reveals. “I felt like I was going to lose my child.”
“If there was ever a doubt in your mind that Chris Brown was done, he was finished? I wouldn’t be on it,” the 26-year-old concludes in the trailer. The release date for this revealing documentary has yet to be announced, but we’re so looking forward to learning more about what Chris was going through during this difficult time once the full film drops.
