Guns N’ Roses is back, baby! The rock legends throttled Coachella with the help of AC/DC’s iconic Angus Young, and it was a performance that had to be seen to be believed. Click through to watch every single moment!
Coachella‘s first weekend was full of absolutely insane performances, but nothing has touched the intensity and sheer brilliance of headliners Guns N’ Roses. Rock gods Axl Rose, 54, and Slash, 50, are back and better than ever, and they brought along the legendary Angus Young to rock the socks off Coachella! Click through to watch their epic performance!
Though Axl had a fractured foot, it didn’t diminish the fact that this set will go down in the books. While he couldn’t dance around, Axl pulled a Dave Grohl and commanded the stage from a huge iron throne as original GNR members Slash and Duff McKagan played their hearts out like the monsters they are. No bandanas or cornrows in sight anymore, though. Sorry!
The set started out with, what else, but “Welcome to the Jungle,” which got the crowd insanely amped for the rest of the show to come. Of course, they couldn’t play Coachella without busting out their hits “Paradise City” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine”! That would be ludicrous. And JK — the bandana’s back! So are the suede jacket and chains. Oh, how we missed you. Axl’s voice is still incredible. He’s hitting all the highest notes, without a single flaw. It’s blessed news for those fearing that Axl couldn’t take over the mantle for AC/DC as lead singer when Brian Johnson steps down.
What’s a better endorsement than having Angus himself come out and play “Whole Lotta Rosie” and “Riff Raff” with the band as Axl sings lead? And how amazing is he? After Coachella weekend 2, Axl will head out with AC/DC’s tour in Europe for 10 performances before reuniting with Guns N’ Roses to kick off the Not in This Lifetime tour. We’re really thinking we should go now.
