Lamar Odom spoke publicly for the first time since his tragic overdose in Oct. 2015, and he looked and sounded amazing! It was even more special because he did it to honor his big ‘brother’ Kobe Bryant on the day of his last NBA game of his career. See for yourself, right here!
This is absolutely amazing! Lamar Odom, 36, has made a stunning recovery since his accidental overdose in Oct. 2015, and he proved it on April 13 by speaking in public for the first time. And the reason he did it was heart-warming – he was honoring his buddy Kobe Bryant, 37, before his final game in the NBA. Check out the touching video, here!
We’re totally not tearing up, we just have something in our eye! Lamar has made so much progress since being told he may never walk or speak again after his accidental overdose last Oct.. Now, he’s walking around, going out with friends and family, and finally he’s even speaking publicly again! We were so shocked to hear that he sounded completely normal, and so happy for him.
Lamar recorded a clip for Kobe’s pre-game tribute on April 13, and he had nothing but love to share for his former teammate and close friend. “Bean, what’s up? It’s your little brother L.O.,” Lamar said while Kobe beamed. “Just want to tell you I love you, you had a great career. I’m proud to say that I was right there with you, Kobe Bean.” So touching!
Throughout the whole speech, Kobe was grinning from ear to ear. He looked genuinely shocked and thrilled to see his friend back to his old self. Though these two will never play together in the NBA again, we like to imagine them balling in Kobe’s home court in his retirement. Click here to see highlights from Kobe’s final game.
