Is Alice in more trouble than anyone realizes? Olivia Taylor Dudley revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com that knowing Alice’s fate in the books was pretty scary. Eek, spoilers ahead!
On Monday night, April 11, the first season of The Magicians comes to an intense end. As many of the book fans know, that means Alice (Olivia Taylor Dudley) could be facing a rather tragic ending when she comes face-to-face with The Beast.
Alright, this is your last spoiler warning! If you haven’t read The Magicians series and don’t want the show to potentially be spoiled for you, I highly suggest you stop reading. Otherwise, welcome!
So, is Alice going to sacrifice herself in order to save Quentin and defeat The Beast? We spoke with Olivia Taylor Dudley on the show’s incredible set in Vancouver, Canada in between takes, and the actress hesitantly revealed her concerns for what could happen to Alice if the show follows the storyline Lev Grossman laid out in the books.
“I can’t really give anything away, but we do a good job of weaving in what happens in the books, for sure, but we go off-book a lot with the character development and where things go,” Olivia told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY as we spoke inside the Brakebills classroom where The Beast is introduced in the very first episode.
However, Olivia did admit that she was pretty worried after reading Alice’s fate in the books for the very first time. “Terrified. Definitely. I was like, wait, I love this character and she disappears at the end.” But, it’s worth noting that she then added, “I’m not worried about it anymore.”
Our fingers are crossed that we aren’t about to witness Alice meet her end, and obviously so are Olivia’s. She shared that the “great” thing about television is that “you get to show things that you don’t get to show in the book. So if Alice does disappear, where does she go?” Hmm, now that’s interesting!
Make sure to check out The Magicians finale on Monday night, April 11, on Syfy at 9/8c.
