It’s time to put Mystic Falls behind for good — at least it sounds that way. Ian Somerhalder just revealed that season 8 of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ would be the last.
We’ve seen a lot of people leave — and come back — to The Vampire Diaries. But it looks like we’ve only got one more season to sink our teeth into. Less than a week after Kat Graham announced season eight would be her last, Ian Somerhalder delivered the news that it’d actually be the end of the show.
“We have decided to do one last season to really do the story justice,” Ian announced at Walker Stalker Con in Nashville on April 10. However, The CW just told HollywoodLife.com that no decision has been made yet.
“Season 8 will be my last,” Kat told Us Weekly at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 3. “I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me. If the crew can come with me, then we’ll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go because we’re a family.”
We’re also now wondering if this means that Nina Dobrev will be back as Elena for the finale. As you know, if Bonnie dies, Nina will wake up — so will Julie Plec give Delena a happy ending? I guess we’ll have to wait and see for that.
Of course, we will let you know any update about the show — but first, let us know what you think. Do you think it’s time for The Vampire Diaries to end?
