On ‘SNL’, Hillary Clinton (aka Kate McKinnon) did not take kindly to Susan Sarandon saying she’d vote for Trump over the democratic candidate! Click through to watch the hilarious cold open!
Hillary Clinton, 68, was the butt of the joke during the incredible cold open on the April 9 episode of Saturday Night Live, but Kate McKinnon made sure to get in a crack at someone else: Susan Sarandon! Susan shocked when she confessed that she’d vote for Donald Trump, 69, over Hillary, and “Hillary” had a helpful suggestion for what she should do on election day instead! Click through to watch the amazing sketch!
SNL‘s cold open centered on Hillary addressing the nation about her seven-state losing streak to Bernie Sanders, 74, and how she’s going to turn it all around in New York! She’s urging everyone to get out there and vote, except maybe one person. “And to Susan Sarandon, who said Trump might be better for America than me, why don’t you take Tuesday to drive off another cliff?” Hillary says.
Yikes, harsh! Hillary’s remark is a reference to Susan’s iconic scene at the end of Thelma & Louise, in which they, yes, drive their car off a cliff. Susan is a diehard Bernie supporter, and said in an interview on MSNBC that she would be reluctant to vote for Hillary if Bernie didn’t get the democratic party nomination. In fact, she’d even be willing to vote for Trump instead! Her reason? Hillary hasn’t “voted the right way,” and Trump has a better chance of “bringing the revolution.” Okay!
Hillary’s not losing focus though! The hilarious sketch also mocks her attempts to relate to “real New Yorkers,” by doing things like wearing a Yankees cap that still has the tag attached, and pretending to eat a street vendor hot dog. Oh, and attempting and failing to ride the subway! Yeah, people aren’t forgetting about that one!
