Charlize Theron proved three buns are better than one while filming the MTV Movie Awards on April 9. The actress wore her white blonde hair slicked back and paired with a subtle makeup look. Keep reading for Charlize’s exact hair how to!
Charlize Theron, 40, is a master when it comes to giving us classic red carpet looks to love. For the 2016 MTV Movie awards airing April 10, Charlize added an edgy vibe to her look, which included a gorgeous sheer Alexander McQueen dress and a modern take on a classic updo.
Celebrity hairstylist, Enzo Angileri, was behind Charlize’s hair look, taking your usual top knot and adding a twist (well, three to be exact). “I wanted to create a very modern, minimalistic look to compliment her Alexander McQueen dress,” Enzo said of the knotted mohawk look he created.
To get the look, Enzo blow dried Charlize’s hair with the ghd Air and a round brush. He then used the ghd Platinum Styler to straighten her naturally wavy hair and give it a sleek finish.
Next, Enzo brushed Charlize’s hair back and divided it into three sections — the crown of the head, center and nape of the neck — pulling each section into a ponytail. Enzo twisted each ponytail counterclockwise into a knot, securing with bobby pins and finishing the look with a shine spray.
For her makeup, Francesca Tolot kept it simple with fresh dewy skin and soft hints of color. On Charlize’s eyes, Francesca used a shimmering taupe eyeshadow on her lids and just along her lower lash line, adding definition with black mascara and a hint of brown eyeliner on the outer corners of her eyes only. To finish the look, she gave Charlize a soft pink lip with a shiny finish.
