Now, it was a dubious penalty that was awarded in the first place, when David Luiz was adjudged to have been tripped — it was the slightest of touches on the Brazilian defender. But the referee awards the home team the penalty without any hesitation. City’s hearts were in their mouths.

Zlatan picked up the ball, Joe worked his way behind the goal playing a little bit of a psychological play as he patrolled his goal area trying to put the big swede off. Zlatan looked confident though as he was about to step-up. Even a close-up angle showed he looked like he couldn’t miss.

Zlatan casually strolled up and with his right foot, smashed a shot low to Joe’s right-hand side. Amazingly, Joe read the situation quickly, throwing himself to the right and with a strong hand he beat the ball away.

Joe is somewhat of a renowned penalty saver — who can forget this amazing save he made from Ronaldinho in 2013. It was a double save that any goalie would’ve been proud of.

Despite keeping Zlatan out with the penalty, he did later concede a goal from the world-class forward in a fluke scenario when the ball cannoned off Zlatan’s foot and into a vacant net following a risky goal-kick.

But HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Joe’s penalty save? Was it one of the best you’ve ever seen? Tell us what you think?
