It’s hard to believe, but there’s only one weekend left in the 2016 March Madness tournament…and the Final Four teams are ready to put up a fight! But who should you root for out of the four stellar basketball teams remaining? Take our quiz and find out!
The 2016 NCAA college basketball tournament has quickly dwindled down from 64 teams to just four, and it’s certainly going to be a tough fight to the National Championship on April 4. The next two games will be played on April 2, and if you don’t have a loyalty to any of the Final Four teams, we’re helping you decide who to root for with a fun quiz. Take it right here!
March Madness is winding down, and we finally know our Final Four Teams! 2 seeds Villanova and Oklahoma will tip off at 6:09 p.m. on April 2, while 1 seed North Carolina and 10 seed Syracuse will play once the first game is over.
It’s been a wild pretty interesting ride for all four teams to get to this point! As a 1-seed, UNC breezed past FGCU and Providence in the first and second rounds, then defeated Indiana 101-86 in the Sweet 16. It took a 61-56 win against Wisconsin in the Elite 8 to get them their spot in the Final 4, a much closer game than the other three, but certainly a W that prove they deserve to be here.
Meanwhile, Nova crushed 15-seed UNC-Asheville in the first round with an 86-56 victory, then defeated Iowa 87-68 in the Round of 32. Their Sweet 16 match against Miami was expected to be a close one, but Villanova blew the Hurricanes out of the water 92-69, and in the Elite 8, they took out Overall No. 1 seed Kansas 64-59 in an impressive win.
The Oklahoma Sooners started out their tournament with an 82-68 win over CSU Bakersfield, then eeked out a close one against VCU, winning 85-81. They took down Texas A&M in the Sweet 16 with a score of 77-63, then dominated No. 1 Oregon in the Elite 8, winning 80-68.
Syracuse is the obvious Cinderella team in this Final Four, and they’re the only 10 seed to ever make it to this point. Many critics have slammed the Orange, saying they shouldn’t have even made the tournament this year, but Jim Boeheim’s guys have proven their worth. They beat Dayton 70-51 in the first round, and after 15-seeded Middle Tennesse impressively took down No. 2 Michigan State, the Orange went up against the Lightning, securing a 75-50 victory. The team beat Gonzaga 63-60 in a super close Sweet 16 game, then had a major, 15-point comeback against No. 1 Virginia in the Elite 8 to win 68-62. WOW!
