‘American Idol’ will crown its winner in just a few weeks, but for now, the Top 5 contestants are giving it their all! HollywoodLife.com spoke to Mackenzie Bourg and he tells us how he’s feeling going into Sia Week.
Mackenzie Bourg, 23, is most certainly a shoo-in for the Top 3 when the time comes on the final season of American Idol, but for now, he’s just trying to do his best. As we head into Sia Week, Mackenzie reveals what he’s thinking. Check out the interview here!
Mackenzie tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he’s a little unsure of how to approach covering one of Sia’s songs: “It is a crazy thing — it will be an interesting week to say the least. I am still trying to figure out what song to do, what will I do with the arrangement,” Mackenzie says. Above all, he wants to make sure he sticks out from the rest of the pack: “I don’t want to be to predictable and just come out with a guitar. I want to stand out!” We have total confidence that Mackenzie will do just that, and slay his arrangement on Thursday!

We love that Mackenzie is one of the most confident contestants on Idol this season. As he told us previously, Mackenzie feels way more comfortable on the Idol stage than he did when competing on The Voice! “I think it kind of comes across in my performances like how comfortable I am,” Mackenzie explained. “You know, I have kind of gotten to be myself here, and I have gotten to do the songs the way I’ve wanted to, and I got to perform one of my own songs which is absurd to really fathom right now. Nothing against, you know, [The Voice], but I’ve kind of — look at me — I’m dressed how I want to dress.” We are so with him on this!
HollywoodLifers, are you rooting for Mackenzie to win American Idol? Tune in Thursday at 8/7c on FOX!
