The timing certainly isn’t good on this one. Mariah Carey is scheduled to perform in Brussels on March 27, just five days after the deadly explosions that killed at least 30 and injured more than 200 in the very same city — and she’s understandably being warned to cancel the show.
Tragedy has struck Europe right in the middle of Mariah Carey’s Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour — and she’s scheduled to be right in the middle of all of it this Sunday. Mariah has a concert in Brussels on March 27, but she’s being urged by her security team to call it off immediately following the brutal terrorist attack in that very city on March 22.
Mariah’s security team is reportedly “strongly against” her heading into Brussels, as the venue could be a possible target for a future attack on that day for obvious reasons, according to TMZ. Remember, the Paris terrorists struck a concert hall during an Eagles of Death Metal show back in November, and more than 100 people were killed.
Besides just fear of another attack, there might not even be a way for Mariah to get into Brussels — since the attack happened at the airport and Metro, incoming and outgoing flights have been suspended, and train and bus service has been halted for an indefinite amount of time. No official decision has been made on whether or not Mariah will perform in Brussels, and her team is reportedly checking in with the U.S. Embassy to determine a plan of action.

At least 30 are dead and 230 injured after ISIS suicide bombers detonated their explosives on the morning of March 22, and Belgium’s threat level has been increased to a 4. There was an undetonated suicide vest and assault rifle near the body of one of the attackers, so it’s possible that another explosion was planned.
HollywoodLifers, do you think it’s safe for Mariah to go to Brussels on Sunday? Or should she cancel the show for another time?
