The big game, which is part of the thrilling March Madness line-up, takes place at the neutral arena of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY at 3.10 p.m. EST and should be an absolute classic example of college basketball at its finest.
It should be a close call with Temple seeded #10, and boasting a 21-11 record this season. Iowa are seeded #7 and have a near on equal record of 21-10, so it’s tough to call.
Temple will be reliant upon their strong defense, opting for a man-to-man defensive line-up that could give Iowa lots of problems in attack. They will be feisty and aggressive, so it’ll be all about how Iowa can handle the physical approach of their opponents.
But in offense, Iowa are very strong, averaging 78.1 points per game this year, which makes the Owls’ 68 points-per-game average look very average indeed.
Temple will be reliant upon Quenton DeCosey, the 6’5″ senior wing will do what he always does as a team player, shoot from deep, lay off clever passes to teammates and provide a constant menace to Iowa.
But Iowa’s 6’9″ Jarrod Uthoff will definitely have a big say in who wins. The forward is averaging a respectable 18.9 points per game, and will look to improve on that in this game.
