That’s going to sting! Brazilian Soccer hero Neymar has been hit with a HUGE fine for failing to pay his taxes on his professional contracts, as well as his huge endorsement deal with Nike. Click to see how much he’s out of pocket for!
Ouch in the wallet! Brazil and Barcelona soccer god Neymar, 24, has been found guilty of tax fraud, a judge at a federal court in Rio de Janeiro ruled on Mar. 18. The twinkle-toed forward is said to have failed to report earnings from his contracts with his previous team Santos, current team Barcelona, as well as his endorsement deal with Nike. But what’s his punishment?
Well, for paying his back taxes, plus the fines for failing pay in the first place he’s now stuck with a WHOPPING $50.7 million bill, according to Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. Paulo. His fine is subject to an appeal, so he may be able to negotiate a lower fee. But still, that’s going to hurt. A lot.
Neymar is believed to have used his businesses Neymar Sport e Marketing, N & N Consultoria, N & N Administracao de Bens to avoid paying the sum of $63 million, which is slightly higher than his fine, between 2012-2014.

Judges examining the case are believed to have determined that fake contracts were created to ensure that full taxes were not paid by his companies.
Last year, Neymar, who is said to be worth $75 million, had his assets frozen because of the tax evasion allegations. “We studied the information regarding the tax case in question, Neymar, the three businesses and his business partners [parents of the player] and we found that there were fraudulent business practices,” Develly Claudia Montez, the court auditor, wrote.
Neymar is also under investigation by the Spanish authorities for failing to pax taxes in his signing-on-fee in his transfer from Santos to Barcelona in 2013.
