WWE Roadblock 2016 is here, less than a month before WrestleMania 32. But all eyes were on the main event as Triple H squared off against Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Mar. 12. Find out who won here!
WWE Roadblock 2016 gave us just a little taste of what we can expect at WrestleMania 32. The event, held in Toronto, Canada was a thrilling showcase of wrestling as The Revival took on Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady, The New Day locked horns with League of Nations, Brock Lesnar battled with Bray Wyatt, and Triple H fought Dean Ambrose. Find out who was victorious by clicking down!
In the big one, Triple H put his WWE Heavyweight Championship belt on the line against Dean. It was a great match-up, that started with the pair sizing each other up with a few early grapples. Ambrose took control of the fight with some quick hip-throws, and even had time to disrespect Triple H by taking a rest on the ropes. The challenger had a game plan and aimed kicks to Triple H’s leg, who was limping around the canvas trying to avoid the punishment. Both men tried to pin their opponents using the ropes, but both kicked out at the final moment. But Triple H remained the champ in a thrilling way. After struggling to get back into the ring after being knocked out, Dean managed to beat the count. But as soon as he did, Triple H pile-drived him into the canvas! 3 count and out!
Brock Vs. Bray was another exciting contest. Brock showed off his brute strength in the early stages of the fight, throwing his opponent around with ease with a series of suplexes. In what was a one-sided fight, Brock pinned a stunned Bray who really had his butt handed to him. It was over before it had even started.
The WWE Tag Team Championship belt was on the line as The New Day grappled with League of Nations. The guys from The New Day entertained before the fight unveiling a cereal box called Booty-O’s. And they didn’t disappoint during, with Xavier Woods blowing his trumpet to get the crowd behind them. After much jostling, Xavier lured the Wade Barrett outside of the ring into a trap in which his teammate Kofi Kingston slammed the English brawler. With the Nation’s Seamus distracted, Big E scooped him up and slammed him to the canvas for the 3-point count.
In the fight for the NXT Tag Team Championship, The Revival took on challengers Enzo and Colin, who introduced their favorite phrase to the Canadian fans, “You can’t teach that!” Cheered on by their manager Carmella, who at one point slapped Scott Dawson, they eventually succumbed when an isolated Enzo was tag-teamed, with Dash Wilder launching himself off the rope to daze his opponent to win.
WWE Divas Natalya and Charlotte showed the women’s wrestling scene is just as tough, with both ladies putting everything on the line. When Natalya had Charlotte in a sharp-shooter lock, her opponent’s dad Ric Flair intervened. With Natalya distracted, Charlotte took her from behind and pinned her down with the help of the rope.
