When your sister’s having a one-on-one meeting with Ryan Reynolds, of course you cheer her on! First Daughter Malia Obama adorably encouraged her sister, Sasha Obama, as she spoke to Ryan at the White House Canada State Dinner. Amazing!
It’s official — Sasha Obama, 14, is the luckiest girl in the world! While attending her first official White House State Dinner on March 10, the first daughter got to meet Ryan Reynolds, 39! Sister Malia Obama, 17, knew what an incredible moment this was, and gave her a thumbs up! Love it!
Sasha just did something any of us could only dream about. Malia was a proud big sister as she looked on at Sasha having a giggly, excited conversation with the star of Deadpool, giving her a huge thumbs up. That face Malia’s making just screams “get it, Sasha!” Ryan, who is Canadian, attended the Canada State Dinner at the White House with wife Blake Lively, 28. Do you think these lucky ladies got to meet her too?
Their night got even more incredible from there. (Hot) Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 44, gave a touching speech about the elegance and maturity of the first daughters, acknowledging their first, momentous opportunity to attend a State Dinner. He was so glad it was his State Dinner!
He said that both Malia and Sasha had “grace, through what is a remarkable childhood and young adulthood that will give you extraordinary strength and wisdom beyond your years for the rest of your life.” Beautiful! Prime Minister Trudeau, whose father was former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, empathized about his own life being the kid of a leader.
“It’s also touching to meet Malia and Sasha, who are here at their first State Dinner,” he said. “And quite frankly, the memories for me of being a kid and not being old enough to attend these kinds of events with my father almost makes me wish I had gone through my teenage years as a child of a world leader — but not quite.” Go Sasha! Go Malia!
HollywoodLifers, would you fangirl out if you met Ryan? Tell us in the comments!
