Black Mamba is playing his 20th and final season of a glorious career, with the curtain officially coming down on April 13 when the Lakers play their final home game against the Utah Jazz. But before that, these two great competitors will come together for one, final hurrah.
Kobe has been nursing a shoulder injury, sitting out 3 of the last 5 games, but you get a feeling he will have enough in the tank to go toe-to-toe with LeBron. And it’s the same with King James, who coach Tyronn Lue has said he will spare in the next month before the play offs start. You can’t see LeBron missing this opportunity to say a personal goodbye though, can you?
The Lakers surprised all with a shock 112-95 win against 3-point whizz Stephen Curry‘s Golden State Warriors on March 6. They followed that up by beating the Orlando Magic 107-98, so they’ve almost turned the corner in what has been another difficult season.
The Cavs are counting down the games to the playoffs, still sitting at the top of the tree in the Eastern Conference, but stuttering their way to the finish line with just a 2-win game advantage over second-placed Toronto Raptors.
It should be an emotional farewell for both these greats, and we hope they have great games and give us something to remember their legacy by. The Lakers may even pull out the win for all-time’s sake, we’ll just have to wait and see.
HollywoodLifers, can Kobe pull out one final heroic performance and outscore LeBron? Or will the Cavs add more misery to the Lakers’ season. Sound off to us below!
