If you’re holding out hope that Christian Bale will eventually reprise his role as Batman, you’re going to be disappointed. The actor declared he is ‘DONE’ with the superhero. Click to WATCH!
Christian Bale, 42, is leaving the role of Batman solely to Ben Affleck, 43. The Oscar winner revealed that he will never play Batman again. He declared in an all-new interview that he has “nothing else to offer the role.” OMG!
“Enough’s enough, we did our thing,” he told Yahoo Movies. “It’s done, I’ve nothing else to offer it.”
Whoa. Since Christian’s last Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, Christian has had to debunk rumors of his return as the Caped Crusader. One rumor circulated that claimed Ben’s Batman is not really Batman, and Christian would end up appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
“I think it’s pretty clear that Ben [Affleck] is playing Batman now,” he told ET in 2015 when asked about the rumor. He then destroyed any possibility of a return. “No, it’s not happening,” he said.
The ending of The Dark Knight Rises left Batman’s fate up in the air. However, in a 2014 interview, Christian revealed that his Batman is still alive and well. Many fans believed that Alfred seeing Bruce in Paris was a dream, but Christian confirmed that scene was real.
Even though we love Christian’s Batman, we’re sure Ben is going to do the role justice. After all, many doubted Christian as Batman before Batman Begins. Christian is just one of many actors who’ve played the Caped Crusader. Michael Keaton, George Clooney and more have also taken on the role.
Ben will be taking on the role of the Dark Knight in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Batman will be facing off against Henry Cavill’s Superman in an epic battle of the superheroes. The movie hits theaters on March 25.
