Bernie Sanders has gotten a taste of victory and now he’s out for blood against the Republican presidential candidates. He went for the throat when he attacked Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz at the Democratic debate on Mar. 6, and it was intense! Here’s what went down.
The GOP presidential candidates better watch their backs! Bernie Sanders came after Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and John Kasich during the Flint, Michigan Democratic debate on Mar. 6, and it wasn’t pretty. The Vermont senator basically called them mentally unstable! We have all the details, here.
Bernie is definitely in the game on Mar. 6. The Vermont senator was taking no prisoners at the Democratic debate in Flint, Michigan, and things got nasty when he brought up the GOP presidential candidates. After Hillary mentioned that either of them would make a better presidential choice than the GOPs, Bernie said “We’re gonna invest a lot of money in mental health and if you watch the Republican debates you’ll know why.” BURN! Or should we say, BERN!
The major diss came after Hillary’s inspiring comment about the other party. “Compare the substance of this debate with what you saw on the Republican stage last week,” Clinton says. The comment was made during a heated argument with Bernie at the Mar. 6 debate, but she took a second to make sure people knew they’d be better off with either she or her opponent than Donald, Ted or Marco.
Perhaps Bernie is turning his attention toward the big leagues now that he’s closing the gap between he and Hillary. He got a surprising number of states on Super Tuesday. After he added Nebraska and Kansas to his repertoire on Super Saturday, Bernie entered the debate feeling confident, with 8 to Hillary’s 11, and many of the ones Hillary won were by a very close margin.
Hillary is still well ahead of Bernie in delegates, but many of them are “super delegates” who do not based on the public vote and can change their allegiance at any time before the Democratic conference. The better Bernie does in the debates and the more states he claims in the primaries, the more likely Hillary’s super delegates are to switch sides.
