The hunky Conor McGregor, 27, has his work cut out for him on Mar. 4 when he takes on the brutal Nate Diaz, 30. However, this isn’t the MMA fighters first time at the UFC rodeo, and we have a feeling he can handle himself just fine. To help build your confidence, here are 5 things to know about Conor.
UPDATE 6/7/2020: Conor announced on Saturday, June 6, that he’s retiring from UFC. “Hey guys I’ve decided to retire from fighting. Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it’s been!,” tweeted with a photo of him and his mom Margaret. “The game just does not excite me, and that’s that,” McGregor said to ESPN one day later. “All this waiting around. There’s nothing happening. I’m going through opponent options, and there’s nothing really there at the minute. There’s nothing that’s exciting me.”
1. His nickname is “The Notorious.”
Conor is a born killer, and he’s proven that time and time again. He’s unpredictable and fierce, with 19 wins and only 2 losses in his entire career. That’s how he earned the name “The Notorious,” by being notoriously bad-ass!
2. His Instagram will make you drool.
The MMA fighter posts frequent videos pumping mad iron… shirtless. Whether he’s doing pull-ups on the beach, lifting weights in the gym or going a few practice rounds in the ring, this hunk is sure to make your mouth water.
3. He loves the finer things in life.
While Conor collected an unemployment check the day before his first UFC fight, he now posts pictures of how good he lives on Instagram. From his swagged out Lambo Aventador to his “fine silk” outfits, this guy knows how to go big or go home.
4. He has a massive chest tattoo.
Conor is effectively turning his hot body into a zoo. First he got a huge, colorful gorilla head wearing a crown across his chest, and then he added an angry, roaring tiger around his belly button. UFC President Dana White hates when he gets more tattoos, but no one can tame Conor.
5. He’s a master trash-talker.
Conor is known for launching into some brutal “psychological warfare” against his opponents. The day before his fight against Nate, he said “It’s just another day for me. One falls out and another steps in so I’m used to it.” Plus, he mocked Nate’s body, saying “I was giggling at his little soft body. How can a fat guy be so skinny at the same time? It amuses me.” Brutal!
