Move over, Beyonce. Jennifer Lopez may be the next Super Bowl Halftime performer. That is, if Wendy Williams has anything to say about it. During the March 3 episode of her daytime talker, the host petitioned for the Super Bowl committee to consider JLo for next year’s show. Watch!
Jennifer Lopez has done it all — she currently stars on and produces NBC’s Shades Of Blue, serves as a judge on the farewell season American Idol, headlines her own Vegas residency, and so much more. But could she be adding Super Bowl Halftime Show performer to her lengthy list of accomplishments? It’s possible! See what she had to say while appearing on The Wendy Williams Show on March 3.
“I’m going to start the bid right now! Attention Super Bowl committee, There’s an obvious person that you’ve never had do the Halftime show, and she’s right here — Jennifer Lopez,” Wendy Williams said, while talking to the camera during her daytime talk show Thursday. Jennifer was then quick to add, “I did not prompt that. That was all Wendy!”
“But you know what, though? Even this past year, if Keith Urban did it, then Blake [Shelton] could have done it. You could have done it. It could have been like an American Idol… because you’re like America’s show, and it’s your last season. You could have done the Super Bowl Halftime show, and we would have all clapped,” Wendy explained. (Obviously, Wendy meant to say Harry Connick, Jr., not Blake Shelton, who actually serves as a judge on The Voice. Wendy just got her singing shows mixed up. Whoops!)
Either way, Jennifer liked the sentiment. “Aw. That would be nice. That’s a good idea,” she said.
