It’s war! Kylie Minogue and Kylie Jenner are battling out who has the rights to their name, Kylie! In new court docs filed by Kylie Minogue, she calls the reality star a ‘supporting character’ on ‘KUWTK,’ and says she has no right to claim the name Kylie as only hers!
Yikes! Things are getting hot in here! Kylie Minogue is not happy that Kylie Jenner is trying to take legal ownership of their moniker. The Australian Grammy winner is furious that 18-year-old Kylie has decided that she’s more famous than the 47-year-old singer. Now Ms. Minogue has filed legal docs trying to block Kylie’s attempt to trademark “Kylie” for business purposes.
In the docs, obtained by DailyMail, the KUWTK star is, according to Ms. Minogue’s legal team, not that big of a deal: “Ms. Jenner is a secondary reality television personality who appeared on the television series Keeping Up With the Kardashians as a supporting character, to Ms. Jenner’s half sisters, Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian (i.e. the Kardashians).” The docs also state that Kylie is controversial: “Ms. Jenner is active on social media where her photographic exhibitionism and controversial posts have drawn criticism from, e.g., the Disability Rights and African-American communities.” Meanwhile, the Australian beauty is described as an, “internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian, and breast cancer activist’ in the documents of opposition.”
Ms. Minogue made her feelings very evident in a tweet on Feb. 28 that simply read, “Hello … my name is KYLIE #lightyears.”
Wow, it doesn’t look like things are going to die down anytime soon. We just wonder if reality star Kylie, is ready to go head-to-head with such a mega-star. Even though Kylie J has over 14 million Twitter followers, Ms. Minogue has over 2 million. Not too shabby. These women are both famous in their own right and we think it’s silly for Kylie to trademark this name, don’t you?
