So sweet! Kelly Clarkson got emotional while talking to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show about her husband, Brandon Blackstock, and how amazing of a dad he is to their little girl. Read on for more details, here.
Kelly Clarkson, 33, has been on an emotional rollercoaster since her heartwarming and tearful performance of her song “Piece by Piece” on American Idol. The singer got a little choked up during an interview with Ryan Seacrest, 41, on his morning radio show about the reason why the song means so much to her and her relationship with her husband, Brandon Blackstock, 39. Try not to cry as you listen to what she says!
“Piece by Piece” is a song about the troubled relationship with her father and how her husband has restored her faith in men. It truly affected Kelly in more ways than she ever thought it would leaving her feeling overwhelmed by the big response her song has received.
“He’s such a great father,” Kelly shared with Ryan during On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Feb. 29. “He’s in the room right now going ‘Yeah, I am’,” she jokingly said. “I used to be such a downward Debbie when people use to say, ‘Oh you haven’t found the right one.’ Shut up! It was like a fairy tale.” Many of us ladies can sure to relate to that!
“Watching my husband love on his daughter all the time you know, go to her events and just be there and like be present is like hard to watch but beautiful to watch,” Kelly continued to share. “I know that my kids are going to have that. Y’all are totally going to make me cry on this interview. I’m so glad you can’t see me.” Aww, Kelly is so cute!
“I don’t even think I understood the gravity of [my relationship with my father] until I was pregnant with [River Rose],” Kelly told Ryan. “I was like, ‘I cannot imagine not seeing this kid to his or her full potential and just seeing what she’s going to do, what she’s going to be like.'”
“I’m 33 years old, I’m a grown woman,” she concluded to say. “But it’s more of that thing where you can try your hardest to salvage relationships — and I did — but at the end of the day, if you keep getting hurt by someone because they just don’t know how to properly love people, it’s just not worth it. It’s not worth the strain in your heart and it starts to bleed into your other relationships and it becomes super dysfunctional.” That is one powerful message Kelly is spreading, and we have to thank her for it.
