Rachel McAdams’s Oscars Dress — Stuns In Sexy Emerald Green Gown
Rachel has had an incredible award season thus far, so it comes as little surprise to see that she’s pulling out at all the stops when it comes to her Oscars fashion. After turning heads in a black lace Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2015 dress at the at the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Jan. 30, The Notebook actress had us swooning once again on Feb. 28 when she stepped out in this elegant halter gown designed by August Getty Atelier. The gorgeous, emerald green hue totally popped on the red carpet, and perfectly complimented her radiant complexion. The slinky, body-skimming design also featured a dramatic thigh-high slit and an open-back, which showed off an ample amount of skin for a bit of added sex appeal.
To complete the look, Rachel styled her newly dyed platinum blonde hair into an elegant chignon hairstyle that looked all the more stunning when teamed with her elongated Niwaka diamond bar earrings! As for her makeup, Rachel turned to her sister Kayleen McAdams to help her create glamorous makeup look, which was punctuated by a subtle green smokey eye look and a pretty nude lip. So chic!
Winning red carpet looks aside, this has been a huge year for Rachel, who on top of being nominated for her first Oscar, also just won her first SAG Award for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture’ for her brilliant performance in director Tom McCarthy‘s captivating drama, Spotlight. The buzzed-about film tells the true story of how the Boston Globe‘s “Spotlight” team of reporters uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese in Boston in 2001 — a report that shook the Catholic Church to its core. For her part, Rachel plays Sacha Pfeiffer, one of the talented journalists who helped bring the Church’s sex-scandal to light.
Rachel’s captivating performance has earned her praise by fans and critics alike, resulting in not only a SAG Awards win herself, but also several other top prize nominations for the film, including an Oscar nod for ‘Best Picture!’ While it’s too early to tell if Rachel will take home the industry’s highest honor, we do have high hopes for the actress tonight. Of course, you’ll have to tune into the awards ceremony (airing at 8pm EST on ABC) to find out!
