She did it! Alicia Vikander took home the coveted Oscar statue for Best Supporting Actress, all for her amazing work in ‘The Danish Girl.’ Congrats!
“Thank you so much for your support and your belief in me,” Alicia said to The Danish Girl‘s director, Tom Hooper, who gave the actress a standing ovation as she approached the stage to accept her ward. Obviously, he was totally rooting for her to win!
But, Alicia wasn’t finished. She then made sure to point out her co-star and on-screen husband, Eddie Redmayne, to say, “Thank you for being the best acting partner. I couldn’t have done it without you, you raised my game.” You can see the FULL LIST of winners by clicking HERE!
Despite all of the hype surrounding not only Alicia but her film, The Danish Girl, she was clearly shocked when her name was read as the winner of the Best Supporting Actress category. Sitting next to her was her boyfriend and fellow nominee, Michael Fassbender, who proudly embraced and congratulated her before she approached the stage!
Of course she also thanked her mom and dad for raising her to believe that anything can happen. So sweet!
