Is Ted Cruz really famed serial murderer The Zodiac Killer? That’s what people on the Internet are perpetuating, and a whopping 38% of Florida voters actually believe! Read on for an explanation!
The belief that Ted Cruz is the famed 1960s serial killer, the Zodiac Killer, started out as a persistent Internet joke that’s apparently taken on a new life: people are starting to legitimately believe it! A poll from Public Policy Polling has determined that 38% of voters believe that the GOP presidential candidate is The Zodiac Killer. That is about 38% too many! Read on for the details!
Blame weird Twitter and Tumblr for this one. Ted gave a speech in 2013 called “This is the Zodiac Speaking,” and someone on Twitter first pointed out that he was definitely the Zodiac Killer. A joke, obviously; the Zodiac Killer started committing his murders in 1968 and 1969 in Northern California, and Ted was born in 1970. So…no. The joke has persisted for years, and has been reignited anew since his bid for the presidency began. This would definitely disqualify him from the White House, right?
Why does everyone keep joking about Ted Cruz being the Zodiac Killer?

But it turns out that many people in Florida are convinced that this rumor is true. While 68% of the voters polled said that of course Ted wasn’t the Zodiac Killer, 10% answered “yes,” and 28% were still unsure. Keep in mind that this is the same polling system that discovered in December 2015 that 30% of Republican voters nationwide were in favor of bombing Agrabah. As it turns out, they were just blindly supportive of bombing anywhere in the Middle East — because that is the fictional country from Aladdin! Oops!
So why have people kept up the rumor that Ted is the Zodiac Killer? For one, it’s hilarious. People have compared their faces, which are quite similar if we must say! That 2013 speech doesn’t help either, nor does the bizarre footage of him trying to get his family to act natural during his campaign ad; people said he looked like a serial killer. One man is taking advantage of this situation and doing something great: printing “Ted Cruz was the Zodiac Killer” t-shirts, and using the proceeds to fund abortions in West Texas, where they’re very difficult to come by. So far he has raised $35k! Of course, the Zodiac Killer — excuse us, Ted — is the senator of Texas.
HollywoodLifers, be honest — do you think Ted is the Zodiac Killer?
