It turns out that overnight fame can be pretty overwhelming! Daniel Lara, 14, the adorable subject of the viral “Damn Daniel” video is frequently getting “harassed” and being “chased around”, his friend tells HollywoodLife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview. Internet fame has changed his daily life a ton, and not necessarily for the better. “Since the video came out he has been very popular on campus, everyone is taking pictures with him,” the source continued EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “On my Instagram feed there are nothing but pictures of other students with him. He is the most popular kid on campus right now.”
While a few pictures may be inconvenient, it gets worse than that. “People are harassing him too,” explained the “Damn Daniel” insider. “Everyone else is going out of there way to get close to him and get a Snapchat with him.” This poor guy just wants to learn! However, there are definitely upsides to becoming famous overnight. For example, he got a free lifetime supply of Vans on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and a slew of marriage proposals from beautiful young women.
