Can you say amazing?! The Weeknd brought his A-game to the Brit Awards on Feb. 24 for an insane performance of his hit ‘The Hills.’ His performance was so great, he had everyone on their feet!
We’ve seen The Weeknd rock almost every stage imaginable, but he still managed to completely blow us away at the Brit Awards! The 26-year-old singer took the O2 Arena stage in London for a roaring performance of “The Hills,” and everyone was completely in awe of his talent. But let’s be honest, has he ever let us down?
Fresh off his Grammy performance that earned a standing ovation, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, kept his vocals on point for the Brits. As smoke covered the stage and cool images filled the screens in the background, his voice sounded clear as ever — especially when he hit some surprise falsetto in the middle of the song! And not to mention, he had the smooth moves going too!
While the Grammys were a huge deal for The Weeknd — especially since he took home two awards — the Brits were exciting for him too. This year marks the first time ever he’s performed at the show, as well as his first Brits nomination. He was for International Male Solo Artist against Drake, Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, and Father John Misty, so it’s a big night! Although he lost to Justin, it’s pretty hard to deny The Weeknd of some kind of award after a performance like that!
He may not have won at the Brits, but The Weeknd can still celebrate the fact that he gave an absolutely fantastic show. Plus, he has two new Grammys to his name and an Oscar performance ahead. We’d definitely say he has nothing to be mad about!
