Congratulations are in order! Bjork just won the huge honor of being named best International Female Solo Artist at the 2016 Brit Awards on Feb. 24. We’re so happy for Bjork, she totally deserves this! We have all the details, here.
Oh my god, Bjork just won International Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards! Feb. 24 was a huge day for the Icelandic singer-songwriter, because the award is such a huge honor and we were so happy to see someone so talented take it home. Here’s the scoop!
Bjork faced some seriously stiff competition in the category of best International Female Solo Artist! Running against Ariana Grande, Courtney Barnett, Lana Del Rey, and Meghan Trainor isn’t easy – they’re all so talented! But Bjork definitely deserved her win, and you could tell by her face receiving the award that she was overwhelmed with gratitude. So sweet!
Unfortunately Bjork couldn’t be at the O2 arena to receive her award, but her video call said it all. “I’m so sorry I cant be there tonight, I’m recording.” she said with wide eyes. “But thank you so much to the tremendously friendly Britain for the absolutely best title ever. I’m going to enjoy very much being the Best International Female for a whole year. I’m very honored, thank you.”
Bjork rocked her infamously kooky style in her thank you video and we’re kind of obsessed – we couldn’t stop staring at her! She wore a clear, almost water-like shell over her head and face and a shiny purple dress under a black sweater. She had a serious dramatic cat-eye and pretty pink lips. So unique!
