It’s got to be pretty crazy to go from a totally regular life to insane viral stardom like Daniel Lara did when his ‘Damn Daniel’ video took off. It turns out it can be pretty ‘scary’, one of Dan’s friends told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Here’s the scoop.
“Damn Daniel” star Daniel Lara is super mysterious with little known about him, and a friend of Daniel tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he would like to keep it that way. As a matter of fact, the viral sensation “misses being normal” and is “scared” of the fame. See what else he had to say, here.
Daniel has totally blown up since his video started going viral on Feb. 15. He’s doing an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, he’s gained almost 200,000 Twitter followers, and he’s even getting crazy marriage proposals from fans. But how does the teen heartthrob feel about all the attention? Not good, according to a friend who spoke EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com.
“Daniel is not the kind of guy who uses fame for attention,” says the source. “He is not used to all the attention he is getting. He said it was all kind of scary.” Daniel suddenly went from being a regular freshmen at Riverside Poly High School to basically being a celebrity, and it’s affected his daily life a lot.
“Everyone has been coming up to him at school like, ‘Daniel, Daniel! Hey, you’re Daniel!’” the source explained EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “He kind of misses being normal, the way he was.” That’s got to be super confusing for a young teenager to be thrust into all of a sudden.
On top of the extra attention, he’s also been targeted by the internet, who found out his address and “swatted” him on Feb. 22. That means a swat team showed up with guns a-blazing to his Riverside home after a crank call. So scary! We wouldn’t be too keen on being famous if that came along with it, either.
