Absolutely amazing! Elton John took the stage at Disneyland’s 60th anniversary special and completely wowed the crowd with a rendition of ‘Circle of Life’ from ‘The Lion King.’
Elton John can do no wrong! The legendary singer was just one of many performers at Disneyland’s 60th anniversary TV special, but he really got the crowd going with his performance of one of everyone’s all-time favorite Disney movie songs — The Lion King’s “Circle of Life,” of course! Can we talk about how incredible that was?!
Wearing a sparkling blazer, Elton sang “Circle Of Life” from behind a red piano in front of Cinderella’s castle, and obviously we were singing along the entire time. With two young kids at home, Zachary, 5, and Elijah, 3, wasn’t Elton just a perfect pick to be part of this epic family event?! Later, Elton returned to the stage to sing his own song, “Wonderful Crazy Night,” and it was just as amazing.
The two-hour Disneyland special was jam-packed with epic performances, and Elton was just one of them! Idina Menzel got everyone singing along — including us at home! — when she performed “Let It Go” from Frozen, and Jessie J made us all feel good with a rendition of Pinocchio’s “When You Wish Upon a Star.” Meanwhile, Tori Kelly, Fall Out Boy and more were also at the show to sing some of the biggest and best Disney hits!
Derek Hough led the evening as Master of Ceremonies, and there were also appearances from several other big stars, like Helen Mirren and Jessica Alba, who showed up to talk about how special Disneyland is to them. With an incredible 60 years under its belt, the theme park isn’t slowing down any time soon, and we can’t wait to celebrate many more anniversaries with Disney!
What did you think of Elton’s performance, HollywoodLifers? Do you think he was a good choice to sing “Circle of Life”?
