Uh oh! Rihanna left everyone worried when she had to drop out of her Grammy performance last minute. Now she’s announced the delay of the first eight shows of her ‘Anti’ tour due to ‘production delays.’ See what venues EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com about the fate of her tour!
Drama! Rihanna made the shocking announcement on Feb. 18 that her tour that had been scheduled to begin later in the month has how been delayed by three weeks. We were pretty concerned when she had to drop out of her Grammy performance at the very last minute due to vocal chord issues, but it looks like the 27-year-old singer has even bigger issues with her tour than just her voice. HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that some of the venues were already aware this was going down even before RiRi’s shocking news.
“Live Nation and or Ticketmaster, I can’t remember which one, gave my boss the heads up that Rihanna may reschedule her performance at Viejas Arena on Feb. 26,” Crystal, a box office representative at San Diego State University’s Viejas Arena revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY prior to RiRi’s delay announcment. “It’s not official what’s happening yet. We’re still selling tickets for the show but nothing is official. It kinda sucks.” Viejas Arena was scheduled to be the first stop on Rihanna’s tour, set to take place on Feb. 26, only 11 days after RiRi’s Grammy cancellation.
We’re sure postponing the Anti tour is the last thing Rihanna would want, as she immediately tweeted to her NAVY apologizing for missing the Grammys. With 67 dates on this tour, we’re amazed she was able to find the space to reschedule the eight dates, which include stops in include San Diego, San Jose, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Phoenix, New Orleans and Atlanta. All of those shows have now moved to mid May to accomodate RiRi’s production issues. Tickets for those concerts will be honored at the later dates.
