When we found out ‘Big Brother’ star Caleb Reynolds was heading to ‘Survivor: Kaôh Rōng,’ I was pretty stoked to see Beast Mode Cowboy again. However, that side of Caleb was left at home — well sort of.
Caleb Reynolds is a whole new man this time around! For those who didn’t watch the 28-year-old on Big Brother, he was the heartthrob, gym loving man of season 16. So will that return? Well, yes. HollywoodLife.com chatted with the stud before the premiere on Feb. 17, and he revealed that while “Beast Mode Cowboy” will in a way, be present, it won’t be anything like it was on Big Brother.
Do you think it gives you an edge having the Big Brother experience behind you?
I wouldn’t say it gives me an edge over other castaways out there. I just think that as far as my game strategy it helped me change it so my game play out in Survivor was much better than it was in Big Brother.
You attempted a showmance on Big Brother. Can we expect to see anything similar on Survivor?
No! Don’t expect any showmances on Survivor. I have been happily taken since a month after Big Brother and now I am engaged so there will be no showmances on Survivor.
You’re on the ‘beauty’ tribe but I think you could also be on ‘brawn’ — do you feel you belong on beauty?
I feel like I could be on either one. Beauty is more of a personality type of trait. In that aspect I see why they put me there. I’m a country boy, good looking and I have a good personality. At the same time I see how I could be on Brawn – I’m a fitness trainer and I do body building competitions. I’m all about weight, winning and a big gym rat so I can see how both are fitting for me.

What was the biggest surprise challenge for you/something you were not expecting & had a hard time with on Survivor?
The toughest part was the atmosphere. The elements were really hard… not having water and the heat was intense.
Will the ‘Beast Mode Cowboy’ attitude be back? Could it help you with allies/hurt you?
I actually wanted to leave beast mode cowboy behind me. I wanted to go into Survivor with a new mindset. I wanted to keep the beast mode mentality – not give up and give 110 percent to everything you do but I wouldn’t say beast mode cowboy is playing Survivor. Caleb is playing Survivor with a best mode mentality.
One thing you would have told yourself before you went on?
This is going to be tough but you can do it.
Survivor: Kaoh Rong—Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty begins on CBS at 8PM ET on Wed., Feb. 17!
