Ian and Brittani McIntire, who are already the parents of two young girls, were told they were pregnant with twins. Sadly, the unborn boy was not developing at the pace of his twin sister, and it was revealed that he wouldn’t make it. Then at the couple’s last sonogram, they witnessed a beautiful moment.
Ian and Brittani are expecting twins — one boy and one girl. But sadly, the couple has learned that their unborn son Mason, has a hole in his heart and an abnormal brain, according to KWCH. He isn’t developing at the rate his healthy fraternal twin sister Madilyn, and will likely not make it. On Feb. 16, the couple witnessed something beautiful. During their sonogram, Mason had wrapped his tiny little hand around his sister’s finger and he wasn’t letting go. Brittani stated that, “Most twins when she’s trying to take pictures and stuff, they’re kicking each other and hitting each other, and she said with our twins, it seems like she was very protective over him.” So heartwarming.
“We know we have a piece of them together that will last forever and it’s special to have,” Ian told the outlet. “I know I’m holding him, I’m carrying him, but I just want to be there for him,” Brittani said. “And she’s the only one who can actually be there and holding onto him through it, so it’s comforting to know that if he does pass he won’t be alone.” So touching, our hearts are aching for this family.
Our thoughts are with the McIntire family during this time.
