Who better to open the 2016 Grammy Awards than this year’s undeniable queen of music, Taylor Swift?! Tay certainly did not disappoint by kicking off the show with a performance of ‘Out Of The Woods,’ and it was even better than we could’ve imagined.
Taylor Swift, 26, has been laying low since ending her tour in December, but her performance at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 15 proved she’s definitely still got it! As one of the night’s most-nominated artists, it’s no surprise that the 26-year-old killed it when opening the show with a live version of her hit “Out of the Woods,” and we’re totally obsessing over it.
Wearing a skintight sequined jumpsuit and pink lipstick, Taylor rocked out to her newest single — the fifth from her album 1989 — and totally stole the show right from the very beginning. With her BFF Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran and even Adele rocking out in the front row, it was clear everyone in the crowd was totally feeling it. And how cute was it that Jack Antonoff, who wrote the song with her, played guitar for the performance?!
Now that that part of the night is over, Taylor certainly still has a lot to be antsy over! Before the show even started, it was revealed that the 26-year-old had already picked up two awards, for Best Pop Vocal Album (1989) and Best Music Video (“Bad Blood”), but she’s nominated in FIVE more categories to be revealed throughout the show, too!
Taylor is also up for: Record of the Year (“Blank Space”), Song of the Year (“Blank Space”), Album of the Year (1989), Best Pop Solo Performance (“Blank Space”) and Best Pop Duo/Group performance (“Bad Blood”) so there’s opportunity for her to win plenty of awards! Tay hasn’t won a Grammy since 2013 for “Safe and Sound,” so it’s definitely time for her to start collecting again.
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Taylor’s performance!? Do you think she was a good choice to open the show?
