This duet is basically every country music fan’s dream! Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt teamed up for an epic performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards to sing a mash-up of two of their hits, and it was amazing in every way. And can we talk about their amazing chemistry!?
Carrie Underwood, 32, and Sam Hunt, 31, together?! On one stage? At The Grammys!? This fantasy became a reality at the 2016 awards show, when the country stars collaborated for an incredible duet of their songs “Heartbeat” and “Take Your Time.” We literally can’t get this performance out of our heads!
After hitting the red carpet with her hair slicked back in a dark dress, Carrie totally changed things up, letting her short bob hang down gorgeously and rocking an angelic white dress that showed major leg. The pair’s hit singles totally melded perfectly together, and we loved hearing them sing one another’s songs — and it didn’t hurt that they were totally in sync every step of the performance. Okay, we know Carrie’s happily married, but the chemistry between these two, on stage at least, was BEYOND. Rewatching this over and over and over FOREVER.
Carrie already has seven Grammy Awards under her belt, and she could make it eight this year, as she’s up for Best Country Solo Performance for the song “Little Toy Guns.” For Sam, though, this show is an even BIGGER deal — it’s his first year ever being recognized, and he’s nominated for Best New Artist and Best Country Album. Ummm…kind of HUGE!
After welcoming her first child, Isaiah, in Feb. 2015, Carrie quickly bounced back and released her album, Storyteller, this past fall. She’s currently touring the country on tour in support of the record, and she’s totally been killing it. Meanwhile, Sam has had QUITE a year, and it’s not slowing down any time soon: He’s currently recording new music and will be hitting the road with Kenny Chesney and Miranda Lambert for a stadium tour this summer. These two are literally the definition of star power!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Sam and Carrie’s performance?!
