All the applause! Luke Bryan, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainor and Tyrese Gibson performed a star-studded tribute to Lionel Richie and we were just blown away. They sang a medley of Lionel classics before being joined by the man himself!
Luke Bryan, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainor and Tyrese Gibson make quite the sight for sore eyes. The five superstars united at the 2016 Grammy Awards on Feb. 15 to honor MusiCares’ Person of the Year, Lionel Richie, and the country, pop, and R&B mainstays each held their own before Lionel took the stage! Get the details of their awesome performance right here.
John Legend kicked off the explosive tribute with “Easy Like Sunday Morning”, playing the piano beautifully as he crooned to the audience. It was Demi Lovato, though, who stole the show and put her amazing vocals on display with “Hello” — the crowd was totally wowed! Next, Luke Bryan came in with “Penny Lover”, followed by Meghan Trainor, who did “You Are the Sun, You Are the Rain” justice. Tyrese Gibson also made a surprise appearance and had everyone dancing to “All Night Long”! So good.
Finally, Lionel himself made his way to the stage for “All Night Long” as his name flashed in neon lights as a backdrop. It really was a stunning performance, and a great tribute to an icon!
Tonight is the most important night in music, and we’ve been treated to some incredible performances, including an amazing rendition of “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd and the country music lover’s dream duet between Ellie Goulding and Sam Hunt.
