The heartbreaking death of Viola Beach’s four members and their manager has affected fans and music lovers alike. As soon as the news broke of the fatal car accident that took their lives, fans took to Twitter to express their grief. See their tweets here.
This Valentine’s weekend was a sad one for Viola Beach fans, as all four members passed away in a tragic car accident in the early hours of the morning on Feb. 13. Fans mourned the loss of Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin, and their manager, Craig Tarry, on social media. The group was still up and coming, but even those who didn’t know of the group were devastated by this tragedy.
The accident occurred when Viola Beach was on their way home from a performance at a Swedish music festival on Feb. 12. While it is unclear who was driving, the car that was carrying all five men crashed through a barrier that was closed to stop vehicles as a drawbridge was opening, which plunged the vehicle more than 80 feet into a canal and resulted in all of their deaths. To make things even sadder, the group was scheduled to perform the following night.
Fans immediately flooded social media with messages about the band, as they were just getting started with a career that was anticipated to be a successful one. See some of the tweets below:
