Uh oh. Did Bill Murray predict the end of the world back in 1989 while starring in ‘Ghostbusters II’? Click inside to WATCH!
One question mankind continues to ask itself is, “When will the world end?” It seems like every few years there is a date set for the apocalypse, but, thankfully, it never actually goes down the way the internet tells us it will. But, is that all about to change on Valentine’s Day, of all holidays?
In this clip from 1989’s Ghostbusters II, Dr. Peter Venkman, portrayed by the great Bill Murray, speaks to a woman named Elaine on his talk show, The World Of The Psychic. Elaine tells Dr. Venkman that a date has been set for the end of the world, and it will be on February 14 “in the the year 2016.”
With that, Dr. Venkman looks at the camera and says, “Valentine’s Day. Bummer.” Bummer, indeed!
Unfortunately Elaine’s story gets a little sketchy after that as she reveals that an alien is the one who told her this terrible news. She claims that she met the alien at a bar inside a Holiday Inn in Paramus, New Jersey, and that the alien used some sort of “ray” to trick her into following him to her room. It’s no surprise that Bill — um, I mean Dr. Venkman — looks pretty unimpressed by this story as he glaces at the camera once againn.
