This is heartbreaking news that will leave every WWE fan shouting ‘No! No! No!’ Daniel Bryan, the WWE Superstar that headlined ‘WrestleMania 30,’ has announced he’s retiring from wrestling due to medical reasons.
Daniel Bryan, 34, won over the WWE with his amazing wrestling moves, his “Yes! Yes! Yes!” catchphrase and his undeniable charisma. So, the news that the former WWE champion is being forced to hang up his boots and walk away has left the entire wrestling world in shock!
“Due to medical reasons,” Daniel tweeted on Feb. 8, “effective immediately, I am announcing my retirement. Tonight on Raw, I’ll have a chance to elaborate” Fans will have to tune in to hear the exact details why the man once called “the best in the world” must give up the profession he loves.
Sadly, this news didn’t come out of the blue. Daniel (real name Bryan Danielson) has been out of action since April 2015 for medical reasons that haven’t ever been revealed to the public. However, Daniel told Busted Open that he has dealt with concussion issues, according to TMZ. Daniel also had to relinquish his Heavyweight championship in June 2014 after undergoing surgery on his neck, before returning to the 2015 Royal Rumble.
“I don’t have a passion for TV or movies or acting,” Daniel EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com before WrestleMania 31. “I have a passion for wrestling and I find it hard to leave that for TV and movies. But if it is a thing that is a short amount of time I would consider it, but wrestling is what I love to do!”
Due to medical reasons, effective immediately, I am announcing my retirement. Tonight on Raw, I'll have a chance to elaborate. #gratitude

Daniel made his professional debut in 1999. Over his ten year run on the independent wrestling circuit, Daniel earned the respect of fans, performing in organizations like Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerilla. He signed with the WWE in 2009. Daniel is the WWE’s 26th Triple Crown Champion, having won the Intercontinental Championship, the WWE Heavyweight Championship and the Tag Team Championship with Kane, 48. While the decision may be best for Daniel’s health, the wrestling world has lost an incredible talent. Fingers crossed that Daniel will get the hero’s send-off he deserves during the Feb. 8 episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw.
