People may be anticipating ‘SNL’s February 6 episode for a Bernie Sanders appearance, but another presidential candidate may have stolen the show in the cold open: Ted Cruz! Taran Killam’s killer Cruz impression skewered his awkward persona to a T! Click through to watch!
Ted Cruz, is that you? Saturday Night Live opened its show with a send up of the GOP presidential candidate on February 6, poking fun at his often strange and awkward persona. Taran Killam‘s amazing impression killed again as “Cruz” explained a little more about himself, and SNL did not hold back on how they felt about him! Click through to watch!
Cruz asked an important question to his voters: when you’re thinking about the president of the United States of America, don’t you want someone who’s “the greased pig of politics”? Um, what? The bizarre, but hilarious insults didn’t stop there — far from it! Cruz described himself as a “little stinker,” and a “nasty little weasel.” Oh my god. This was so crazy!! In addition, when you’re trying to vote for the next president, think about “which one of these guys would be played by Paul Giamatti“? Too funny! The sketch went there with the difficult-to-watch behind the scenes videos with his family that were captured from one of his campaign ads.
If you don’t remember that, Ted’s mother and daughters clearly didn’t want to keep hugging him over and over again for the multiple takes! Kate McKinnon played one of Ted’s daughters, and grimaced through getting kissed the whole time. So bad, but there’s no way you can’t laugh through it! We can’t help but wonder what Cruz and his family thinks about this sketch, because it wasn’t flattering! That’s what you get with SNL‘s political stuff!
