Austin, Texas here we come! ‘The O.C.’ was just added to the ATX TV Festival set for this summer, and well, we could not be more excited about this panel.
Last year it was Dawson’s Creek — and this year it’s The O.C.. This is not a drill. Austin, Texas’ annual TV festival has officially added both The O.C. and Friday Night Lights to their panel lineup, set to take place the first week of June. While talent is still TBD, we can only imagine the cast that will be attending.
Welcome to Austin, bitch! There will be two events at ATX for fans of the epic show: the writer’s room reunion featuring Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Leila Gerstein, and more to come; and a script reading of the pilot episode, presented by Josh Schwartz and featuring special guest cast. Of course, we attended last year when it was the Dawson’s Creek script reading and Kerr Smith, Jack McPhee himself, was the guest — so there’s a good chance someone good will be there!
In addition to The O.C., the festival also added Friday Night Lights, which makes since — they honor the Texas-driven show every year. There will be a “High School Reunion” on Panther Field and include a pep rally with cast, crew and fans to celebrate the 10-year anniversary! Of course last year featured the epic Gilmore Girls reunion, and this year’s big one will be Everybody Loves Raymond, 20 years later.
Tickets are on sale now for the festival, which will also feature panels and screenings with Casual, Lifetime’s UnREAL and TVLand’s Younger. Kurt Sutter will also be doing his first panel for a writers room reunion of The Shield.
Will you be attending? We’ll be there. Let us know!
