Katie May, a beautiful and driven Instagram model, tragically lost her life after a massive stroke on Feb. 4. Her sisters Jenny and Megan May shared their devastating experience making the tough decision to take Katie off of life support EXCLUSIVELY with HollywoodLife.com. See what they said, here.
Katie was a super-healthy, intellegent, vibrant 34-year-old woman. So it was completely shocking when she died on Feb. 4. Now, her sisters Jenny and Megan sat down with HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY to explain the tragic events of her finals days. “She wasn’t feeling well on Monday (Feb. 1)” they explained. “She went to the ER, and it originally was a neck pain. From what we’ve learned since it was a massive stroke.”
It is still unclear what exactly caused a stroke in someone so young and health-conscious, but there are reports it was from a fall at a photo shoot. Her condition deteriorated quickly after that. “On Tuesday, she became non-responsive. We got out to LA on Wednesday and discovered she was being kept alive by machines,” Megan and Jenny told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Then they got the terrible news that Katie was brain dead. That’s when they had to make the most difficult decision of their lives. “They (doctors) wanted to wait. Our family was extremely close. She was our baby, she was the youngest of 4, she was my baby doll,” the sisters told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. That’s why they decided to let her go. “We love her dearly, so we were all around her when we took her off the life support on Thursday.” Our thoughts are with Megan, Jenny, and the rest of the May family.
