A kale salad from McDonald’s? Sure, it sounds like a good idea… but wait until you hear what else is in it!
Believe it or not, the latest McDonald’s salad — which has kale lettuce blended in — packs nearly 200 more calories per serving than it’s Big Mac sandwich.
Major kudos to McDonald’s for trying out the kale lettuce trend that health nuts are raving about, but next time they may want to reconsider how they use it. Unfortunately, their brand new kale blend salad is not going over well with customers because of it’s high calorie count. Eek!
The “Keep Calm, Caesar On” salad is a blend of romaine and kale, but it also includes bacon, crispy (aka fried) chicken, roasted garlic focaccia croutons, and shaved parmesan cheese, which is explained on their official website. Sounds delicious, sure, but it’s definitely not a “healthy” option.
The kale salad has 31g fat, 100mg cholesterol, 1140g sodium, and 28g carbohydrates. In comparison, the Big Mac sandwich is 28g fat, 70g cholesterol, and 950g sodium.
Do you realize what this means? It means that if you’re going to go through with eating McDonald’s, whether it’s for a cheat meal or just on a lazy night when you don’t feel like cooking, you’re probably better off going with the real fast food: burgers and fries.
Needless to say, these people agree:
Who but Mickey D's could make a "healthy" kale salad with 1.5 times the calories of a Big Mac ?
