Hilary Duff is finally a free woman! After two years, her divorce from former NHL star Mike Comrie is finalized. Was the divorce amicable when splitting their assets? Get all the details here!
Hilary Duff, 28, is officially back in the single ladies club! Her divorce from former professional hockey player Mike Comrie, 35, was finalized after almost two years. Did the two have a friendly divorce and are they finally ready to move on with their lives? Here’s what we know.
Fortunately these two seem to be ending things amicably. The finalization of the divorce comes with the legal documents on how the couple will be splitting their assets. Hilary will be keeping their Beverly Hills mansion, but will have to pay Mike $2,408,786 for his share of the property, according to the legal papers obtained by People.
The two tied the knot in Aug. 2010 and are parents to their 3-year-old son, Luca. It was in Jan. 2014 when Hilary and Mike announced their split and have been on good terms since. So it doesn’t come as a shock that they have also agreed to co-parent Luca and will be splitting joint physical custody.
Earlier this month, the Younger star stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show and spoke about the current status of her and Mike’s relationship and their son. “We have such a great kid,” she told Ellen. “And we’re both so obsessed with him. We are good friends and we laugh a lot. And we have a great communication and we share pictures when one is not with Luca. He’s great, we are great, and we keep on trucking.” Sounds like they got everything under control!
Hilary seems to be moving her life along pretty smoothly this year. She has her hit show Younger, she’s on the Feb. cover of RedBook, and has been rockin the coolest pink hair do! Can we mention that we also love all of her positive Instagram messages? It looks like 2016 will be a great year for Hilary.
